FAQ

What are your opening times?

There are three changes to this each season. When the hill first opens for the season, it's usually the first week when it's just open at the weekend, but very soon after that it's open every day. At the weekend the hill is open from 10am to 4pm and during the week it's from 10am to 3pm. For half term week the hill is also open until 4pm every day. Most important thing to remember is the hill opens at 10am and is usually open every day until the snow has gone.

How many runs do you have?

The best thing to do is click here and look at the map. Under the map is a table showing what runs are open and what are closed. Green is easy and black is hard, but you probably know that. If you need any help getting around, just ask but all lifts take you to the restaurant and ski shop, so you wont get lost.

Can I rent skis or a snowboard?

Yes! You can hire everything you need for the day for all ages. There is even a shop to buy everything you might need too.

What is the price for a day pass and can I have a half day pass?

For season 2015-16 the price for an adult day pass is 230kr, for children from 7 to 17 it's 180kr and everyone up to 7 ski for free. Half day passes are available for 180kr for an adult and 140kr for everyone between 7 and 17.

Do you have a fun park?

Yes we've got a big fun park. It usually comes in January as we need a lot of snow to build it and it's loads of fun. There is a video here of the fun park from 2015.

Are you really the best skiing I'm going to get if I live close to Skellefteå or Umeå?

Yes we are. A recent poll listed Bygdsiljumsbacken as the number one skiing destination for people living in Skellefteå and Umeå. On the 'out of ten scale' for how much fun you had when visiting, we scored a 9 out of ten. It would have been a 10 but it was an extremely cold day. But when you're living in the north of Sweden, you've got to expect the odd cold day. But the hill was open - because it doesn't close when it gets cold.

Do you have a restaurant or do I need to bring my own food?

We have a restaurant or you can bring your own food. You can also grill your own food - there are a few places where fires are started for you from March onwards usually.

Can I stay the night?

There are cabins you can book but they get booked up very quickly when the snow comes so our advice is to book early to avoid disappointment. But starting in 2016 we're going to have a booking system that will allow you to see cabin availability and you'll be able to book online.

We also have 42 caravan spaces at the bottom of the hill and there are more spaces in the village.
